2008 - CORCS Off-Road

As with most motorsports, R/C racing has a point structure in place. It is CORCS goal to keep this structure as "sane" as possible.

Each class is scored seperatedly, and points are given out as follows:"

2nd Place : 99 pts
3rd Place : 98 pts
...
...
10th Place : 91 pts

B-Main

2nd Place : 89 pts
3rd Place : 88 pts
...
...
10th Place : 81 pts

Bonus Points
Like full scale racing, CORCS hands out bonus points for special accomplishments.

  • TQ Point: The Top Qualifier or "TQ" is awarded a 1 point bonus
  • Region 4 Point Series will be calculated by scoring your best 2 results. In the event of a tie, the finishing position of the final regional race of the year will decide the winner

Region 5 Point Series will be calculated by scoring your best 2 results. Ties will be broken using the following criteria:

  • 1st tie breaker - Total Wins
  • 2nd tie breaker - Total Points (No Drops)
  • 3rd tie breaker - Most TQs
  • 4th tie breaker - Average qualifying position
  • Your score for each weekend is posted on this page. Each region's points are scored seperately, and only your best "X" races count. "X" can vary from region to region. For an example, Alberta has 3 regional events this year, and only your best 2 finishes count towards your regional points.

Points from the regional standings DO NOT carry forward into the final. This gives every racer a shot at the CORCS Championship regardless of your finishes at regional events. The reason that points are not carried over to the final is to accomodate smaller reagions. Simply put, the more drivers in a region, the more difficult a high score will be, and ultimately, the more "valuable" points are. In smaller regions, less skilled drivers can attain more poits than skilled drivers in larger regions.

Racers interested in participating in the final DO NOT have to attend any regional events. The only pre-requisite to be eligible for this race is that all racers participating my be CORCS members. This can be purchases when paying race fees at any regional leg or at the final itself.

At the conclusion of the season, regional champions will be crowned as well as a series champion.
